What we collect, why, and on what legal basis (Art. 6)

  • Newsletter — if you subscribe, we collect your email address to send framework updates. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), confirmed by double opt-in. You can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link. Processed in Listmonk, self-hosted on infrastructure located in Germany (EU) — your email stays within the EU. Retention: until you unsubscribe.
  • Support chat — if you use the chat, we process the messages you send (and any contact details you provide). Legal basis: consent / legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(a)/(f)). The chat is an AI-assisted system with a human in the loop (see AI Transparency). It is operated by Nextars on self-hosted infrastructure in Germany (EU). The self-hosted chat performs no automatic deletion: transcripts are kept until we delete them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
  • Analytics — we use Umami, self-hosted and cookieless, on infrastructure in Germany (EU), to count visits in aggregate. No cross-site tracking, no profiling, no raw IP stored. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding usage.
  • Hosting / delivery — the site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes your IP address and request logs to deliver and protect the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). As a US provider, this can involve a transfer to the United States, which Cloudflare covers under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights (Arts. 15–22)

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]; we respond within one month.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. The competent authority here is the CNPD — Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (Portugal), www.cnpd.pt.
